Trend Spot: Danish ‘Tegel’ Bricks

These slim Danish bricks create a dynamic and interesting façade choice. They have been seen in commercial architecture buildings such as 10-4 Pentonville road in London for a few year and have now filtered down into the residential design scene.

The bricks are made from clay and can come in a variety of colours and shades but the grey shade is most notable and striking. The characteristic appearance of this façade material is the mixture of different shades of brick into one wall or frontage.  The clean sharp edges of the brick create a shaded pattern across the face.

The difference shades of brick used in Danish brick facades create an extremely interesting aesthetic  and when mixing these bricks with glazing in a Façade flush glazed windows and doors, like our Innovare system, looks fantastic.

By using a dark back painted band around the underside of the flush glazed window you create a sharp line separating the brick façade and the opening or fixed window.

This project below was created using Danish style bricks and our flush glazed Innovare system for both the windows and doors throughout the project.
