The building was designed by Sutherland Hussey Architects with minimal architectural glazing from IQ. It was also featured on Grand Designs House of Year and was the only project to showcase this type of minimal glazing in Newcastle.

A double height hallway runs from the entrance to the rear garden creating an impressive impression on entry. This hallway is bracketed by double height windows on either end with a pivoting opening at the base for access.
