IQ Glass Project Wins RIBA Award 2012

IQ Glass were specified as the glazing specialists on a stunning contemporary extension, set in the picturesque countryside of the Cotswolds. The property, designed by Found Associates, has won the RIBA 2012 Award for a Private house and is now in the running for the prestigious Sterling Prize.

The Linear extension spanned from a 620m² Grade II listed cottage with a frameless glass connection. Found Associates, designed the renovation to be as energy efficient as possible, ensuring that a number of well used rooms followed the path of the sun reducing heat loss.

Large sliding Minimal Windows were installed at strategic points to make the property as energy efficient as possible.

IQ Glass fitted the south elevation with a wall of glass, incorporating Minimal Windows Sliding Doors, giving a fantastic open view across two 13th century lakes. Strategic placements of glass roof lights and Minimal Windows are a brilliant addition to this architectural design, making the innovative design functional as well as aesthetically striking.
