IQ Charity Golf Day Raises £10k for YoungMinds!

Last week’s annual IQ Charity Golf Day, in aid of YoungMinds charity, was a huge success! We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who played on the day and to all our amazing sponsors. 

We are proud to have raised £10,000 for the charity and to do our bit as a company to fundraise for causes we believe in. 

This year's event was held at the Buckinghamshire Golf Course in Denham, and we’d also like to give a shout-out to the team there for helping the day run so smoothly (even if Piers on beat the pro did let 11 players beat him!). 

Donations from our goody bag and raffle prize sponsors meant that players at the IQ Charity Golf Day were well fueled for the golf and with over 1000 raffle tickets sold the players won some amazing prizes including a Weekday 4 ball on The PGA at The Belfry, a Peter Millar polo shirt and Titleist golf balls. A huge thank you to our raffle prize sponsors; HSS, GGR Group, Inside Industry, Obex, Aquabocci, Vetrotech Saint-Gobain, MaGins.

On the IQ Charity Golf Day, once the teams had all completed the 18-hole golf course we gathered to have a drink and share stories about the wins and losses on the golf course.  

We then all sat down to enjoy a two-course BBQ lunch and to announce the winners of the golf and raffle prizes. The laughs came into action for the reveal of the golf prizes, here prizes were given to golfers who showed the best performance. Lastly, a speech was delivered by the IQ marketing department to wrap up the day!

For those of you who don’t know, YoungMinds is a national charity, specialising in providing support for young people suffering with their mental health as well as their parents and carers. 

Their range of services includes supported housing, crisis helplines, drop-in centres, employment and training schemes, counselling and befriending; and money raised on this year's golf day will be going towards helping to fund and expand these services.  

The YoungMinds has created a 24-hour crisis helpline called SHOUT, the crisis messenger service provides free, 24/7 crisis support across the UK. If you are a young person experiencing a mental health crisis and need support, you can text YM to 85258.
