Bake Off 2018

IQ's Great British Bake Off 2018 in aid of Roald Dahl's Charity

IQ held a Bake Off this morning to raise money for Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity. A local charity, based in Amersham, who help to make life better for seriously ill children in the UK. The Roald Dahl nurses provide holistic support to thousands of children and their families each year. To support this fantastic charity, we put IQ staffs glazing skills to the test!

The Great British Bake Off 2018 at IQ saw a wide array of showstopping cakes, cookies and cupcakes baked to perfection! Within the bake off there were festive designs and tastes including a Halloween pumpkin cake (to celebrate this Halloween eve) and Christmas spice cupcakes! The staff at IQ definitely showed off their glazing knowledge as we saw intricately decorated cakes that would definitely stand out in the technical challenges! Piles of sweets were neatly spaced on top of traditional circular chocolate sponge cakes, showing off their attention to detail.

An IQ inspired chocolate cake stood at the forefront of the #bakeoff display, beautifully decorated with elegant chocolate roses. There's no shadow of a doubt that all our IQ Great British Bake-Off contestants pulled out all the stops to help raise money for the Roald Dahl Charity.

After great deliberation, our expert bake-off judging panel came to a decision of who should win the prestigious title of #StarBaker. Due to the outstanding detail used within the design of the Pumpkin, the highly detailed icing and the impressive chocolate orange flavour, the star baker award was given to Joe, one of our glazing estimators.

Joe was awarded a prize kindly provided to us by a local coffee shop & cafe, The Grocer at 91, in Old Amersham. Well done Joe on winning star baker in the IQ Great British Bake Off 2018! #GBBO #GBB018 #StarBaker
